Corrosion College
About Corrosion College
- Æ Corrosion College is an approved educational and teaching location for all Corrosion Courses offered. Once a course is successfully completed, Certification is issued.
- Æ is a teaming partner with Armed Forces Futures Initiatives LLC (AFFI) which holds the Corporate Membership with Corrosion training providers to deliver Federally-approved Certification courses.
- Courses are taught by experienced corrosion experts as well as by certified trainers.
- All courses and work experience can be applied to a degree program such as the AAS/Corrosion Workforce granted by Tapestry Christian College & Academy (TCCA).

Why the Emphasis on Corrosion?
Corrosion degradation poses significant challenges to oil and gas facilities, tank cars, steel structures, bridges, infrastructure, and the trucking industry. Despite the latest technological advances and innovations in various fields, corrosion is still a major integrity threat for our nation’s assets.
Effective corrosion management minimizes the risk of failure and damage. It can also extend the lifespan of existing infrastructure, reduce the need for steel replacement, and limit associated environmental impacts. Corrosion-related failures are expensive to repair and result in costly disruptions and potentially serious safety risks.
Course Offerings:
- C7-Abrasive Blaster Certification
- C12-Liquid coating applicator
- CAS-Coating Application Specialist, Blaster/Coater/Supervisor
- CIP-Coating Inspector Program Level 1 & Level 2
- NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector (NBPI) (Navy only)

Additional Courses
Our corrosion control programs cover cathodic protection, coating inspection, protective coatings, corrosion prevention and more.
Corrosion Is...
- Costly — The Department of Defense spends approximately $20 billion annually on maintenance due to Corrosion… almost 20% of every maintenance dollar. Industries will spend an additional $300 billion annually on their maintenance requirements. Corrosion also significantly affects the availability and safety of systems and equipment. Corrosion is not simply a sustainment concern; it must be addressed from system inception to disposal (i.e., cradle to grave).
- Critical — An understanding of Corrosion is critical. Corrosion management and effective training affects safety, profitability, and sustainability of important industries. Corrosion is the deterioration of a material or its properties due to a reaction of that material with its chemical environment, therefore corrosion is a far more widespread and detrimental problem than it merely being about rust of metals.
